My Professional Journey
Support for Birth & End-of-Life
I have supported pregnant women and new moms as a professional Doula since 2007. It's my heart's work to be the support and advocate for expecting moms to reduce health disparities and care for women in need. Based in St. Petersburg, FL, I provide moms with the emotional and physical support they need in order to have a gentle birthing experience. I provide new moms or expecting families with the education they need about the birthing process to reduce anxiety and fear of the birthing process.
Additionally, I have years of experience as a hospice nurse and have cared for and supported hundreds of patients and their families through their questions and concerns about end of life matters. My compassionate care provides a gentle, calming presence and approach to help patients and their family to focus on what's most important during the last moments of life.

Frequently Asked Questions
How will hiring you affect my partner’s role during the birth?
Your partner and their role is very important. Our doulas will serve as a compliment and coach to you and your partner during the birthing process.
What are your interactions with medical staff like?
Doulas work along with medical staff. We do not replace your doctor, midwife, nurse or any other medical staff member. Doulas serve as your dedicated support, coach, and advocate.
Do you perform any physical examinations?
Doulas are non-medical professionals; therefore, doulas do not perform cervical or vaginal exams. Your medical team will be responsible for conducting these types of examinations within the scope of their practice.
Why would I need an End-of-Life Doula?
End-of-Life Doulas offer a variety of services to assist in the transition of dying, but are first and foremost a grounding, reliable, knowledgable and comforting presence during a most emotional time.
Does your services differ from Hospice Care?
End-of-Life Doulas do not replace the medical team of Hospice. End-of-Life doulas serve to complement hospice teams seamlessly. End-of-Life doulas offer more time, more personalized attention, more continuity at bedside, more advocacy, and more availability beyond what hospice is normally able to provide due to Medicare guidelines.
When is it best to request End-of-Life doula services?
With all services, the sooner the better. The earlier our doula is able to get to know the patient and family, it aids in creating quality care plans, prioritizing end of life needs, and creating sacred space and meaning for the individual and family.
